Fort Myers, Florida, enjoys a delightful subtropical climate that makes it a year-round destination for those seeking pleasant weather. The city experiences distinct seasons, but it's well known for its warm and sunny climate. Read on for a brief overview of the weather in Fort Myers!

Winter

Fort Myers' winters are mild and dry, with average daytime temperatures ranging from the low 70s to the mid-70s Fahrenheit (around 22-24°C). Rainfall is relatively low during these months, making it a popular time for snowbirds and tourists escaping colder northern climates. The water temperature is cooler  during the winter months, generally about 72 degrees. Floridians don't usually swim during the winter but our visitors from the north are known to!

December - February

Spring

March - May

Spring in Fort Myers is a beautiful time to visit, with temperatures gradually warming up. Daytime highs range from the upper 70s to low 80s Fahrenheit (25-28°C). Spring also sees an increase in humidity and occasional afternoon showers but not nearly as common as during the summer months! The water temperature warms up as well, averaging around 76 degrees.

Summer

Fort Myers experiences its hottest and most humid weather during the summer months. High temperatures can soar into the low to mid-90s Fahrenheit (32-35°C), often accompanied by afternoon thunderstorms due to the subtropical climate. Visitors should be prepared for high humidity levels and the potential for hurricanes. The benefit to visiting in the warmer summer months is everything is less crowded and water temperatures are at their warmest, averaging 87 degrees!

June - August

Fall

Fall in Fort Myers is characterized by gradually decreasing temperatures and humidity. Daytime highs typically range from the upper 80s to low 90s Fahrenheit (29-34°C). The threat of hurricanes and tropical storms is higher during this season but everything is less crowded as snowbirds have not yet returned. Water temperatures remain in the 80's for most of the fall, making swimming & water sports comfortable and fun!
